The 87s

We never check the weather here. Why? It's always the same. Highs in the mid 80s, mostly sunny, chance of showers. It will rain at least once during the day, and you will see a rainbow...or six. (That's my current record.) Someone told me they refer to the weather forecast on the news as "the 87s," because that's usually what the forecast is for the entire week.

Imagine my horror earlier this week when the day's weather turned out to be 77 and windy, and I'd sent my children to school in short sleeves and short pants. They nearly froze to death! What kind of mother am I?!
