It's Cookie Time!

You know what? I don't care about the Girl Scouts one bit. I'm sure they probably do some good things for their communities and make girls feel special and all that. Or maybe they're just another club for people to join so other girls can feel excluded. No idea. But what I do care about are samoas. Delicious, coconuty, caramely samoas. I want some. Yet not being much of a joiner or a chatty friendly person, I don't know any Girl Scouts.

Guess what. Guesswhatguesswhatguesswhatguesswhat!

It doesn't matter. Thanks to the miracle of the Internet, I can make the Girl Scouts come to me! All you have to do is go here, enter your zip code, then submit an email address and THEY will contact YOU and bring delicious cookies to your door. Squeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Technology. It is a beautiful thing.

OK, I'm duly impressed by internet-enabled cookie delivery. There's a canny troop that have set up a table right in the middle of the Harvard Square T station, but I never have any cash when I go by. It all makes me long for the time when my friend Matt accidentally ordered 23 boxes of Thin Mints, and we got to help him out with the overstock.

Never heard of samoas before. I don't think we have them here. But I will admit that internet cookie ordering and delivery is a beautiful thing indeed.

I LOVE Samoas. I think I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't like Thin Mints. Oh, and while they are harder to find, 4-H cookies are absolutely amazing.

I feel like you should know that the Harvard Square Cookie Pushers were setting up just as I went back through there this afternoon, and I *might* have gotten on the bus while juggling a couple of boxes just because of this post.

My husband is addicted to Thin Mints. We get about 6 boxes/yr...they freeze really well. If you don't eat them all the first week.
oh, and back when I was a GS in the early 80s you were only allowed to sell to people you personally know. I HATE it when I see the girls/moms with tables at the train, grocery, etc.

Technology. It's what makes the world go round.

(well, that and shortbreads- but that's just my opinion)
