Beer, Race
We love xkcd's latest. Don't get us wrong. We think Obama was setting a good example by initiating a conversation about race. But the "over a beer" part seemed a little contrived. And I still can't get over Obama's choice of beer. I mean, why not choose a good beer made by an American brewer?

Because he's trying to look like Joe Average. It's even possible (I hesitate to type it) that he doesn't like beer. Many people who drink Bud Light don't.
What the hell is wrong with people that they'd want an "Average Joe" to be President? And why do politicians keep believing that? I'd say the Average Joe is highly unqualified to be President. I consider myself to be very average, and I am certainly not Presidential material. To quote something my friend Andy said during this last election, "I don't want someone I can have a beer with. I want my President to be a fucking genius!" We had an Average Joe for 8 years and look where it got us. I'd say Obama needs to rock the brains and forget about looking average. Average is something he most decidedly is not.
I'd say if he doesn't like beer, which I think is possible, then it doesn't hurt to look like Joe Average. Politicians aren't college professors--it doesn't always pay off in job security to look like you think you're superior to your constituents. I don't care what beer he drinks, as long as he uses his brains where it matters.
Oh, I believe people who think they don't like beer just haven't had the right one!
Or enough of any one kind.
